[edit] Package Details

Release-Date: 2021-02-03

Features: alt-svc AsynchDNS HTTPS-proxy IPv6 Largefile libz NTLM NTLM_WB SSL TLS-SRP UnixSockets

--Michael Felt (talk) 09:23, 13 February 2021 (CET) Note the new feature: alt-svc --Michael Felt (talk) 17:18, 2 November 2020 (CET) Missed a few releases - up to date now. New in this is support for libidn (and libunistring). NOTE: the zlib version is what you have installed (dlopen). Same for OpenSSL - with as minimum to install.

--Michael Felt (talk) 15:28, 17 April 2020 (CEST) Took a lot longer than expected to get this packaged. Nothing complex about this source tree - just lacked time and attention. Think COVID-19. NOTE: Have changed packaging to have zlib, openldap and libssh2 as static (.o) links. Makes the packaging much less dependent - or bothered - by other packages being updated (or not updated).

--Michael Felt (talk) 14:30, 7 March 2020 (CET) Set 7.68.0 as the preferred version. There are some issues that some users experience (with HTML2, iirc). 18 or 19 March is the expected release date for 7.69.1 which will have these issues corrected.

--Michael Felt (talk) 18:11, 5 March 2020 (CET) Just happened to see there is a new version - here it is!

--Michael Felt (talk) 09:20, 3 February 2020 (CET) Version 7.68.0 available. See Changelog (link above) for more information.

--Michael Felt (talk) 14:47, 19 November 2019 (CET) Version 7.67.0 available.

--Michael Felt (talk) 12:52, 22 September 2019 (CEST) Version 7.66 available. This release also fixes CVE-2019-5482. Note: using libssh2-1.9.0

--Michael Felt (talk) 18:24, 29 May 2019 (CEST) Packaged version 7.65.0

--Michael Felt (talk) 15:36, 25 April 2019 (CEST) Package Version 7.64.1

--Michael Felt (talk) 14:57, 21 February 2019 (CET) Package version 7.64.0

--Michael Felt (talk) 20:14, 14 November 2018 (CET) Add 64-bit support as package number

--Michael Felt (talk) 20:46, 11 November 2018 (CET) version 7.62.0 packaged. Remember to update /var/ssl/cacert.pem (default location). Go to for the latest version!

--Michael Felt (talk) 22:19, 7 October 2018 (CEST) version 7.61.1 packaged - again with (open)ldap client support.

--Michael Felt (talk) 22:01, 22 July 2018 (CEST) version 7.61 packaged

--Michael Felt (talk) 12:54, 12 April 2018 (CEST) New version finally packaged.

--Michael Felt (talk) 23:45, 25 January 2018 (CET) Packaged. Note version 7.58.0 corrects two (new?) CVE. See ChangeLog for details.

--Michael Felt (talk) 13:05, 4 December 2017 (CET) I had not ever paid attention to what was needed to support SCP and/or SFTP - but, someone asked when I was going to get that supported as well. The answer is 'today' with VRMF

--Michael Felt (talk) 20:58, 29 November 2017 (CET) Finally got the sources to repackage, and just in time to resolve 3 CVE! CVE-2017-8816, CVE-2017-8817, and CVE-2017-8818. As always - check the ChangeLog link above.

--Michael Felt (talk) 17:01, 15 June 2017 (UTC) Repackaged: See Changelog (link above)

--Michael Felt (talk) 10:45, 2 May 2017 (UTC) Repackaged (same version number) - to add 32-bit shared libraries.

--Michael Felt (talk) 10:49, 23 April 2017 (UTC) This version does not demand aixtools.zlib, but updating your zlib is recommended. The AIX version of libz.a is part of rpm.rte (so you can check their latest as well as mine - currently as libz-1.2.11).

$ curl -V
curl 7.54.0 (powerpc-ibm-aix5.3.7.0) libcurl/7.54.0 OpenSSL/1.0.2h
Protocols: dict file ftp ftps gopher http https imap imaps pop3 pop3s rtsp smb smbs smtp smtps telnet tftp
Features: IPv6 Largefile NTLM NTLM_WB SSL TLS-SRP UnixSockets HTTPS-proxy

--Michael Felt (talk) 12:49, 2 January 2017 (UTC) This version also has the CA certificates bundled with it - but only updates the symbolic link if the file the link points at is gone (aka pointing to air). Again - check for later versions! You can always update to a newer version of certificates!

--Michael Felt (talk) 19:00, 12 October 2016 (UTC) This version has CA certificates bundled with it. These come via: - so they are easy to update. The file /var/ssl/cacert.pem will be a symbolic link to the bundled file (cacert-2016-09-14.pem) if it does not already exist.
